Three wonderful challenges today on Splitcoast & I was able to combine them! The F4A297 (fall colors), the MIX144 (fall colors), and HYCCT1530TEAM (turning you loose). The first 2 are pretty easy to see..for the MIX I have a combo of Distress ink/watercolor in my background, Copics & Versafine ink on the image. Hope that’s enough! For the HYCCT, I used the Wrinkle Free Distress tutorial. I don’t think I’ve ever done it before & I added another wrinkle because the bg is second generation. I had a combo of Distress inks & a little water color on my craft sheet & when I lifted the w/c paper up, it had way too much on it so I pressed another piece of w/c paper to the w/c sheet I just lifted to soak up the excess.
After I dried the bg, I used a Sizzix die on opposite corners & attached it to a dk green bg. The image was stamped w/ Memento, colored w/ Copics then over stamped w/ Versafine. I used a pierced square die & also did a little out of the box on the top of the image. The leaf pile was fussy cut & added on top.
Here’s a look at the inside using leftovers & below it are the Copics I used.

One of my somethings new is the image that happens to be 50% off this month! This is such a wonderful little winter/Christmas image…you don’t really even need to color it. Since I stamped it on textured paper, I used my Misti & Versafine & I stamped it twice to make sure it got into the crevices of the paper. With Versafine, I couldn’t use my Copics, so I used a couple of very pale blue/green Tombow (water based) markers. The greeting was stamped w/ barn door Distress ink before I added some dp layers & snowflake border die cut. I added stickles here & there on the snow & I used a red marker & red stickles to add some berries to the twigs.
Here’s a look at the inside.

Paper: white textured, dp (red & aqua -Pebbles- Home for Christmas) dp (white wood -Glitz) |

This lovely Maple Leaf is also new to me. I tried stamping it in a number of inks & colors, but still didn’t get the look I wanted until I white embossed it and sponged the colors onto the background. I die cut a white frame out of textured white, elevated it a bit & attached it to a layer of dp. A second maple leaf was fussy cut and added along w/ the greeting stamped underneath.

The Free for All Challenge (F4A294) today is to use at least 2 shades of purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors to use for Halloween.
For my spooky card, I started with an embossing folder I just bought & couldn’t wait to give it a test drive. Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but these ef’s made by Sizzix just seem to emboss way deeper than a lot of other brands. So I had a piece of lavender card stock & I inked up the embossing folder w/ some dark purple pigment ink, put my c/s in & embossed it. Then I took it out, sprinkled it with some sparkly dark purple embossing powder & heat embossed it (aka embossed embossing). Wish you could see it..it is really sparkly!
