Easter Ducks

The MIX63 Challenge on Splitcoast today is all about Spring & Easter. So I thought this would be perfect! Aren’t this little ducks the cutest ever? I just had to color them with bright colors since I’m not particularly a pastel person. After coloring, I die cut it with a big oval and backed it with a yellow scallop oval. I had to do a little out of the box on the grass at the bottom. The turquoise layer was stamped with thedouble chevronwith a blue rainbow pad then added some white with a Prismacolor pencil. The buttons were die cut out of leftovers and I added some glaze on top. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

I used the beautiful Quote Collection 4 for my cards. On the first card. I made an acrylic block background by inking a large block with several colors of distress inks, spritzing with water then pressing a piece of white card stock onto the block. After it dried, I stamped the bookmark image and quote on top and trimmed. Two piece of pale lime card stock were die cut using the Beautiful Borders dies, attached to black card stock then attached under my image. The beautiful dp is from the ODBD Blooming Garden collection paper. I colored some seam ribbon to match and added some sequins (a few of those were also colored with Copics to match).

Ink: Versafine onyx, Distress inks in dried marigold, ripe persimmon, mowed lawn, worn lipstick

On my second card, I stamped the bamboo frame, colored & die cut it with a rectangle. I used a craft knife to cut out the inside before attaching it on top of my quote. The two sizes of dragonflies were stamped on scraps of the same blue dp (ODBD Blooming Garden collection) I used for the background. After fussy cutting them, I added stickles on top. I added some straw like woven ribbon and two brads I colored with Copics to match.

Birthday Zinnia -tilted or not?

This is for today’s Sketch Challenge (SC479) on Splitcoast. It’s been a little while since I’ve done a sketch, so I’m glad I made it 🙂 With that being said, for some reason I have a real problem with most tilted sketches. I think they look great on someone else’s card but rarely on mine. So I’ll confess right now…after I took this pic, I pried the panel up and straightened it.

After stamping, coloring and die cutting the zinnia, hummingbird, border, tag & white backing behind the zinnia, I put it all together. The panel behind the zinnia is made up of leftover strips of the dp I put together. And here is the straightened version which I’m much more comfortable with, lol.
