Today’s Color Challenge (CC575) on Splitcoast was a very challenging challenge…blush pink, mint green & blackberry. The pink & green are pretty easy, but the blackberry color is one of the most aggravating colors I’ve come across. It’s not purple, it’s not red, but it is very hard to match & this paper was the only one in my stash that even came close.

To make my card, I put the image & greeting in my Misti, stamped w/ the Memento grape ink, colored w/ Copics, then over stamped w/ the Versafine imperial purple. Just a note here…beware of those really strong magnets that come w/ the Misti…I lost 2 fingernails when a pair of them snapped together! Those puppies are strong! Anyway, I die cut all the layers using the Lavish Layers & Rectangles. The largest print layer was die cut first w/ the largest Lavish Layer then I die cut the leftover frame w/ the largest matting basic B die & put the fancy layer back in & attached it to the largest pink layer.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used. You probably saw the mistake right away…I attached the narrow frame & inside greeting on the wrong panel, lol. Oh well…I guess I’ll have lots more room to write a note!

  1. Beautiful card inside and outside, Julie! Saw this in the Weekly Inspiration newsletter. I love it and love the idea of having some of these on hand. The sweet little bird image is great, and I love how you’ve colored it! Hugs! (P. S. Sorry about your nails, but the magnets are really strong!)

  2. Your card is beautiful. I love the pretty frames and the colors you chose. Have a Happy Easter.
