Welcome to the last blog hop of the 2008-2009 Design Team for FireCracker Designs! It has been such fun and such a pleasure to be a part of this DT. Pamela and Ursula are wonderful, sweet ladies and the entire DT is so talented and such a great bunch to work with. I know I’ll be seeing them lots of places, but I’ll sure miss the team.

(I’m also combining this w/ today’s Inspiration Challenge and Monday’s Technique Lovers Challenge at SCS.)

For this occasion, Pam has decided to have a Scavenger hunt for a 25% off on your entire order (excluding magazine orders please), coupon code!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a circular hop where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you have reached the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog where you started! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

Have fun! Once you’ve gone all the way around, you’ll have all the letters for the code. To unscramble them, put them in order, starting with Pam’s blog. (Follow the links from there, to get the correct order for the letters.) You have until 8:00 pm EDT on Monday August 31st to post for a drawing to win Blog Candy!

Keep reading to find your letter….
JULIE-Aug-04 Miss U Tons 3289a1

For my card, I used the new Elephants on Parade set. I used a reverse mask and the gold ink to create the sinking sun. The elephants were stamped first w/ pearlescent ivy ink then overstamped w/ the lightning black. I added a little shading on the elephants using a q-tip and some of the gold ink. After masking the elephants, the ground was sponged in and the fronds were stamped.

The background panels were done by placing drywall tape (it’s sticky and looks like Magic Mesh) around my brayer and rolling gold, dk green and lt ivory acrylic paint onto hunter green, mossy green and ivory card stocks. All panels were edged w/ a Krylon gold leafing pen an some gold mini brads were added.

The sentiment was cut w/ a Spellbinders circle and labels dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by! The letter you need for your scavenger hunt is the letter “S“. To continue the hop, you need to visit Lisa. I know she’ll have something fabulous for you to see.

FS133 Welcome to the Neighborhood 3272a2
Welcome to the Featured Stamper neighborhood, that is! A huge CONGRAtS to my friend and fellow ISC design team member, Joanne. Or jojot as she’s known around here. I’ve been a fan of yours since about the first day I joined SCS. A Christmas card you did was one of, if not the first, card I favorited here.

For my case, I chose Live, Laugh, Love . I kept the basic layout, but omitted a panel, kept the same colors but rearranged them, changed the images, the theme and subbed clip art for dp.

The lg Victorian house (unknwn- it’s wood mounted, but totally unmarked), was stamped w/ coal ink on white c/s. I cut a white frame and used a Spellbinders nestie oval to cut out the center. I trimmed around part of the house, put the frame on top but inserted the cut out parts on top of the frame. The greeting is stamped on the lower edge w/ cardinal ink.

For my bg panels, I pasted some clip art houses into an arrangement I liked, printed them out on white and divided them. Used a black marker on the edges and attached them to slightly larger white panels. I didn’t have any big red brads, so I used the Brilliance ink on them and heat set.

The red bg was printed w/ a slightly larger version of the clip art houses, edged w/ black and attached to a white card. The card measures 5 x 6.5.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

LSC234 Elephant Wishes 3228a1a
For today’s Limited Supply Challenge at Splitcoast, we were to make a masculine card. No frills, no bling, no flowers. I had the perfect card yesterday. Oh well, I made another using a different elephant image from the same set as yesterday. All images are FireCracker Designs.

I stamped the elephant three times on three colors of c/s w/ the chocolate ink. Just a hint of shading and highlighting was added w/ markers and a white gel pen. They were cut out and attached w/ foam tape to a rust colored panel. The rust panel was punched all around the edge w/ a border punch which has a double row of tiny holes. I used a needle & thread to add the stitching using these holes. The rust layer is attached to dp, another rust layer then a tan card.

The sentiment was punched w/ a tag punch and a attached to rust layer trimmed to fit.  The sun medallion was assembled from 3 sizes of the same image stamped on three colors of c/s and layered together.  One part of the dp was cut out and attached to upper right for a non-girly embellishment.
