Bday Bees cu 08740
The Mix Challenge (MIX165) is winged things & to have at least 2 different kinds of media. For my card, I used ink, Copic markers & embossing powder.

To make my hexagons, I stamped & heat embossed using a pale yellow powder, onto black card stock. Some were embossed w/ dots, some w/ a honeycomb & some w/ stripes. They were then die cut using either the Spellbinders hexagons or the MFT honeycomb dies. The white front was die first w/ matting basic, then cut w/ a stitched rectangle & a black layer inserted between them.  The greeting stamped & the other two little bees were stamped on a scrap (the right facing bee is actually a mirror image) & fussy cut. The hexagons were attached, with some of them elevated.

Here’s a look at the inside.

Teal Gate cu 08682
Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread designs March release! Don’t you love the stars & keys? The dies & sets are so beautiful & versatile! Since I made a number of cards w/ the stars, today I’m featuring the keys.

I like the contrast of turquoise/teal with coral/peach so I made a Wrinkle Free Distress bg on watercolor paper using the distress inks, a craft sheet & a mister w/ water. I did the turq/teal colors first, leaving some white space & when it dried, I did the coral/peach colors. Doing the colors separately helps prevent getting muddy colors. After it dried, I die cut it w/ the largest matting basic die so it would be just a tad bigger than the turquoise Vintage Flourish Pattern die cut. Before I attached it, I sponged just the edges of the turquoise to help better define them. I tucked the teal Gilded Gate in the bottom of the turq. die cut I stamped the greeting w/ the Versafine onto a small Vintage Label die cut. The coral orange layers were also die cut, the edges sponged & I added just the fancy ends of the smallest Vintage Flourish dies cut out of teal, on top of the coral. The die cut Keys were threaded thru the lacy teal layer.

Keep Moving cu 08761
The Sketch Challenge (SC585) on Splitcoast today turned out to be almost as challenging as the colors were yesterday. I made it even harder on myself by choosing to resize the fancy die & try to cut the greeting w/ a curved die.
Keep Moving 08760
After stamping the bike scene w/ Memento, coloring w/ Copics & over stamping w/ Versafine, I die cut it. But as mentioned, I had to make the fancy die a little narrower to fit inside the red layer. The die is mirrored on either side so I had to cut it to just shy of the center point, turn it around, bring the opposite side in & cut to again, almost the center point. The end result removed about 3/8″ of the center section. Then I had to repeat this to varying degrees w/ the other two, smaller panels. Aye yi yi! I probably just should have used a plain die, but I wanted more of the red to show through. The sky was mostly sponged..I masked just the top area of the fence then filled in between the fence boards w/ a Copic.

Here’s a look at the inside (I just doodled the frame) & below it are the Copics I used. Keep Moving inside 08766
