US Navy cu 06600
Today’s CAS Challenge (clean & simple) CAS330, has us using stars &/or stripes. I used both plus anchors for my Patriotic Military card.
US Navy 06601
And this really was quick & easy because almost all of it was made using die cuts I already had sitting around.  I only stamped 3 images, colored 2 and fussy cut the anchor. The little square frame w/ the pierced circle was already there along w/ the little red ring so I added a smaller die cut circle w/ the US Navy emblem stamped in denim. The anchor & USA were lightly colored & added to a bg I embossed w/ a small anchor pattern. The inside has the rest of the USA greeting & says “Home of the Free Thanks to Our Brave”.  The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used (not many).

  NCC Sending FLowers 06616
For my first card, I’m using the beautiful Floral Sentiments 8 set. After coloring it with Copics, I die cut it with a large circle & the reddish print circle with the Matting Circles dies. The largest green print was die cut using the outer die of the Doily die set. The large reddish layer was die cut w/ the Flourished Star Pattern die. The white layer was die cut & to add a little texture, I left it in the die, spritzed it w/ water then laid a piece of cross stitch canvas on top and used it as an embossing plate. For the cute little bow, here’s a link to make one using an envelope punch’s just pictures BOW.These are the Copics I used.

My next card uses the lovely Floral Sentiments 7. Instead of bright colors, I decided to keep this one neutral to go with the lovely Vintage Ephemera paper collection. This wasn’t easy for me, lol. I love vibrant colors!
NCC Sepia Flowers cu 06605
I went a little over the top with the die cuts and flowers, but when using this many neutral colors, more texture gives it more interest. The layers, border, top scrolls, butterflies & flowers were all die cut out of different pieces of the same paper collection. To add a little sparkle, I put some stickles in the center of the die cut flowers and also on the flowers of the image.

Daisy on the Side cu06633
A big congrats to Lisa, the newest Featured Stamper (FS437) on Splitcoast! She has a lovely gallery and after much browsing, I kept coming back to THIS card. I didn’t realize it was her case of another card until I’d already finished…oh well! I really loved the big flower on the side so I kept that & the layout, but I didn’t have a die like she had so I used a stamp for my flower, different embossing & die cut shape for the white panel.

Daisy on the Side 06635
Since I didn’t have the wonderful daisy die Lisa used, I pulled out a really old stamp set w/ these big half flowers on them & stamped them on top of a background I made by smooshing the Distress inks onto an acrylic block, spritzing w/ water & pressing onto water color paper. I cut out 3 of the flowers & 3 leaves plus 1 little half flower. The white bg was die cut & embossed before attaching to a black square. I stamped the greeting around the corner & added some of the little dots image around the corner and also inside the background.

Congrats again, Lisa! Thanks so much for stopping by!
