\nToday I have a simple birthday card with a big punch of color. The woodplank background is colorblended for that rosy, summery look. The layout is simple but eye-catching and so easy to customize by using different colors or a different greeting.<\/em><\/span>

\n A big congrats to beljed, the newest Featured Stamper FS952! She is a fabulous scrapbooker and her gallery is full of color and inspiration. I chose THIS<\/a><\/em><\/span> page to case. I loved the gradient woodgrain so I kept that, but I used a stamped & die cut floral instead of paper flowers & made mine a birthday card.

\nTo make my card, I die cut the wood plank cover then ran it thru the embossing to make a deeper impression. Using all of the reddish pinks, I color blended it, going from light to dark. I added a little yellow on top to give it that rosy glow & a little of the fuchsia on the bottom to deepen the red. The flowers were colored & die cut & popped up. I added more on the sides to even out were they would be placed on top of the frame. The frame is also slight elevated, as is the the greeting. It’s easy to cut card board for these using the same dies used to cut the items out. I just used a second piece & removed the parts that would be on top of the frame. That way there isn’t a folding or bending effect where they go across the frame.

\nHere are the Copics I used. I will mention, when coloring images, I stamp them first w\/ Memento (since it’s Copic friendly). After coloring, I usually stamp over the image again using the Versaclair as it’s a crisper, darker black, but it’s not Copic friendly, so I save it for last. This is where the Misti really is essential, for me.
