\n\"\"<\/a>Looking for a little drama in a card? This may be just what you need. The colors pop & this card uses both heat embossing & dry embossing. Bright colored butterflies against a black background were created using an old technique but it is sure to be an attention grabber.<\/em><\/span>

\nA big congrats to Sherri, the newest Featured Stamper (FS890). She has a really beautiful gallery & I was drawn to THIS<\/a><\/span> dramatic card. I loved the bright colors surrounded by black, so I kept that & the layout, but I used a different technique, different images, embossing folder & dies.
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nI didn’t have the scratch off paper she used, so I used an old technique for the butterflies on black circle. It’s called Joseph’s Coat & there is a tutorial HERE<\/a>.<\/span> The original technique has a brayered background under the embossing & black, but I just sponged 4 colorful inks around the circle. After drying the area & tapping over it w\/ an embossing buddy, I clear embossed the butterflies using Versamark & clear powder. Then comes the fun. I took black soot Distress ink & sponged it over the entire circle, trying to get it as dark as possible. Immediately, I used a soft paper towel to wipe the ink off of the embossing, In places where it seemed a little dull, I took a water brush, lightly went over the embossing, then wiped it again to bring back the brightness of the colors.

\nThe greeting was stamped on a narrow strip then I cut the end using the tag die. I added a black tag behind it, just slightly wider. After using an embossing folder on the white panel, I put it all together.<\/span><\/p>\n
