This week, Lori chose some beautiful plates from <a href=\"http:\/\/acaciacatalog.com\/product.asp?pn=50842&amp;bhcd2=1242876718\" target=\"_blank\">Acacia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(I&#8217;m also combining this w\/ SCS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.splitcoaststampers.com\/forums\/showthread.php?t=438132\" target=\"_blank\">Sketch Challenge<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>I love birds and I knew I had just the right chickadees image from <a href=\"http:\/\/sparklensprinkle.com\/]Sparkle N Sprinkle\" target=\"_blank\">Sparkle N Sprinkle.<\/a> I stamped them with the chocolate ink and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I used the Out of the Box Nestie technique (tutorial <a href=\"https:\/\/thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com\/?p=782\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>) to cut them out, but I used a nesting rectangle set from Quickutz. Masking the birds, I sponged on a little of the Neptune ink.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/sc229-my-little-chickadees-ddic4-2555a1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1216\" title=\"sc229-my-little-chickadees-ddic4-2555a1\" src=\"https:\/\/thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/sc229-my-little-chickadees-ddic4-2555a1.jpg\" alt=\"sc229-my-little-chickadees-ddic4-2555a1\" width=\"525\" height=\"444\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After matting on a chocolate brown layer, I tried something a little different on the white layer. Recently, I tried embossing card stock using a piece of plastic canvas. I liked it so I tried it with a piece of finer mesh vinyl (sold for cross stitch bookmarks). First I lightly misted a piece of white card stock, placed it on the Spellbinders tan embossing mat, placed the vinyl mesh on top and ran it through my Sizzix. I love how it turned out! It looks and feels just like artist canvas. I left the small piece white but on another, I brayered over it with the Neptune ink, stamped my feathers background (Anita&#8217;s\/Sugarloaf) w\/ the chocolate ink and colored them in w\/ markers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/my-little-chickadees-close-up2559ac.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1217\" title=\"my-little-chickadees-close-up2559ac\" src=\"https:\/\/thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/my-little-chickadees-close-up2559ac.jpg\" alt=\"my-little-chickadees-close-up2559ac\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The green bg was done w\/ the forest branches Cuttlebug folder.
