    X 3!
An art lover’s card for a friend or relative, to let them know how special they are to you. The card is made up of a suitcase full of artist tools, a partial stamped/partial die cut greeting and panel of abstract colored paper.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC951) we are visiting Bas Bleu & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS image for my inspiration. The fun artist pouch reminded me of these artist tools dies so it brought them out and die cut all the tools & letter of COLOR out of heavy white card stock. I tend to do this so I don’t have to cut multiple times with multiple colors. I had the panel of paper left & it was just big enough to cut w/ one of the mini slimline dies. Then I colored all the tools to go w/ the paper.

The suitcase I die cut out of 2 shades of grey w/ black accents & I added 3 layers of card board behind the bottom section to give it the impression of being open & full of the art supplies. I like to mix up greetings, especially if I don’t have what I want already there, so I stamped & die cut the YOU, colored the white letters for COLOR & stamped the last line.

You can see the dimension from this angle.
Here are the Copics I used to color in the die cuts:

  • Espresso Bean Owl

A cute little owl card for that special someone who loves coffee & espresso. Super easy to make & fits in wonderfully with the coffee themed paper pack. Perfect for birthday, Mother’s or Father’s Day!

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS889), so a big congrats to Shelly! She has a really fun gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the owl & coffee theme, but changed the layout a bit, used different images, dies, paper & colors.

After coloring & die cutting this cute little owl, I used a mini slimline die to cut the narrow ivory panel & stamped the greeting onto it. A dark chocolate layer was added behind it & I popped it up a bit off of the coffee paper background.

A few stitched hearts in several sizes were die cut out of the same brown & also popped up a bit.
Here are the Copics I used for the little owl:

  • Love You a Lot

Cute little gnome girl on a background of dry embossed hearts. Perfect for a Valentine, Anniversary, Birthday or Mother’s Day. Extra pictures to show how the hearts were pushed out and the double heart border was used to create a lacy strip.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC950) we are visiting All Paint by Numbers and their Pinterest Board. THIS was my inspiration picture.

My card started with the cute little gnome girl. After coloring & die cutting her w/ the coordinating die, I hunted around in my stash of backgrounds & found this baby wipe technique background (tutorial HERE) w/ similar colors. This is what the bg looked like, along w/ a die cut heart bg & inside scallop frame (from the OPC Combo #4). The pocket flap looking piece was die cut using part of the Twist & Pop die.

Instead of using the heart background die to cut the baby wipe bg, I placed it on the rubber embossing mat & embossed the hearts instead. I wanted them to look puffed up so I put the die back onto the embossed bg, lightly rubbed a piece of wax paper over it, then used an embossing stylus to push the hearts out. Here’s what it looks like from the back side.

This is what the front of the background looked like after embossing.

I attached the white die cut hearts bg & the inside scallop frame over it, leaving the sides mostly unattached, where I planned to put the greeting strip. To make the lacy heart strip, I die cut the heart border on one side of a strip of lavender. Then turned the die upside down, matching the points to the indentations on the cut row & cut it again.

The lacy heart stip was added above the greeting, on the pocket flap piece. The gnome was popped up just a bit to even her out, since half of her hat was on the layer below.
