Congrats to Ali, the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS270). ! I loved her gallery but I have to tell you, her wonderful sea of white is scary to me, lol. I love looking at CAS cards and ones w/ a lot of white space. but I have a real hard time doing that on my cards. When I see a lot of white space on my own cards, I start feeling shaky and nervous.

Anyway, I chose Ali’s Butterfly. I kept the white space, color and layout but I added an embossing folder. ribbon and used different images.
Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - I used images from 3 different Our Daily Bread designs sets. In order to get the right color, I used the 2 inks…first inking w/ the aquamarine then tapping the blue lagoon on top before stamping. I caved a little on the background. All the white space was a little too much for me so I added some texture. The embossing folder was used on the background, but I only embossed up to the border at the bottom.

It still felt a little unfinished, so I added the bow and ribbon and then the butterfly. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Easter, everyone!

Very interesting sketch challenge today on Splitcoast (SC379)! I was able keep it pretty much intact except for I turned my card horizontal instead of vertical and my circle is a little bigger.

The images are new from Our Daily Bread designs. For me the hardest part of this card was coloring the cat. I’ve never had a cat or even really been around one. Always had dogs and now birds and once even a bird dog… but no cats. So I hope all the cat people will cut me some slack if my kitteh is a funny non-cat color.

Julie Warner - justwritedesigns The side bars were done w/ the fence & hydrangea border punches. I added a little color on the hydrangeas by running the water brush over them then pouncing them w/ a marker soaked piece of paper towel. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For my card, I’m using the new Francis of Assisi and Cat Sympathy.  I stamped part of the Francis of Assisi image around the sentiment (from Cat Sympathy), colored it with markers and die cut with a Spellbinders classic oval.  For the embossed white background, I used two embossing folders. First I used the one w/ the little bird then cut cardboard in the shape of the wreath (to keep it from embossing over the bird) and embossed again using the wreath folder. The corners were rounded and I added some black enamel dots to two corners. The black background was also embossed using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder. I died the white ribbon using the Neptune ink pad. The finished card is 4.50 x 6.25 (A6).

Thanks so much for visiting…
