  • Thanksgiving Mantle

Thanksgiving card with a mantle of colored pumpkins and cattails in pitchers. Fun to make & easy to change up the colors. I used a neutral palette but this would be great in bright colors, too.

The Inspiration Challenge (IC932) has us visiting Annie Selke & their Pinterest Board where I was inspired by THIS picture (The link has disappeared to my pic, but I did at least have the picture saved). I used several different dies & die sets to create my mantle scene. I die cut the large white panel first, along w/ the long ledge from the Window die & made it just a bit longer by cutting a little more than halfway, then lining up the die but moving it further out, turning the paper around & cutting the other side. (here’s an old tutorial I did that will give the idea of this process.) I used the door frame for the sides & made a longer top piece for it. On the mantle inset, I used the piece I cut out for the frame & used the piercing cover on it. I added a couple of layers of stiff card board to the frame to give it strength & elevation.

The little pumpkins were die cut out of several different colors, along w/ the cattails & pitcher/vases. I used a mini tag die & a piece of mirror silver to make the little mirror in the center. The greeting was stamped below..the original has Gnome instead of Home so I masked that out & replaced it w/ dk brown die cut letters from the Alpha die.

  • Thankful Pumpkins

An easy to make Thanksgiving card using some brand new dies. Just add some fall paper and assemble. Love the outline pumpkins..so fun to try it out using a variety of colors or papers & the bubble border dies add a special touch to the layers.

A big congrats to Raye Lynn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS870). She has cute little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I know it doesn’t look very similar, but things happened. I started to make a little window like hers, but my die cut was too big so I put a layer on top. Then it looked kind of plain, so I added the designer paper. Then I wanted some more color so I added the bubbly green border layers. And the die cut would only fit horizontally, so I turned my card. Otherwise, it’s identical.

The outline part of the pumpkins was die cut out of dk brown & I added a stiff cardboard to the back to pop it up & give it stability. The dies for the pumpkin inserts were cut out of dotty paper from the same pack as the leaf print. Then I attached all the layers. It was then I noticed I had a spot just big enough for the ‘thankful’ word. Thank goodness for the Misti, so I could stamp it more than once, since my layers were already put together.

  • Grateful Autumn

A fall sunflower & leaf bouquet in bright autumn colors with gold embossed outlines. Since the images are layered flowers, you only have to ink the layers to get the colors filled in. The flowers & leaves have matching dies making this an easy card that only looks hard to do.

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge (IC931) & I chose the quilting/sewing supply shop named RebsFabStash & their Pinterest Board. THIS lovely fabric was the inspiration for my autumn card. I used 3 sets of flowers, 1 set of leaves & random dot bg images for my gold embossed card. All of the flowers & leaf outlines were gold embossed then put back into the Misti. These flowers are all layered images so I inked the different layers w/ the autumn colors to fill in the flower petals. For the leaves, I smooshed the ink onto an acrylic block, picked the color up w/ a water brush then painted them in. I used the matching dies for all of these & die cut an extra little leaf out of the same brushed gold paper I used to layer the black on. The tiny greeting was black embossed onto this leaf.

Some of the flowers & leaves were popped up for a little dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
