The Write Stuff

Happy Thursday! Since it’s the first Thursday in August, it’s time for another Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge! Today, our inspiration picture is from Lovely Package.

While I was trying to decide what to do for this challenge, I saw a package of Flourishes stamps I had set out. The viney images and little flowers reminded me of the ones on the bottles so that’s what I used. For the background, I wanted to incorporate the colors of three bottles, so I swiped pale yellow ink down the center of piece of white card stock; pink & red ink down the left side and blue ink down the right. It was all DTP (direct to paper) so it was easy and fast.

I stamped the large viney image on top with black ink, then used a detail acrylic paint brush and a little bleach to pull some of the color out of the leaves and flowers.  I used  the largest square Nestie and resized it to make a very large rectangle and cut out the center of my background. I used the next smaller square and cut it again to leave some space between the inside and the outside frame and attached them to the front of a 4.25 x 5.5 ivory card.

I stamped the smaller vines and birds on a piece of ivory, added a little color with markers and used an oval nestie. A scallop oval was used on the blue and a labels 6 was used on the back ivory layer. The ivory layers had pink ink sponged on the edges and the black  and white dots were added with pens.  I used the pink ink to stamp the bird and overstamped the sentiment with black. I traced an elongated oval around it and hand cut it. A little stickles was added to the central image.
