Magic Shoes

For the Inspirations Challenge on Splitcoast (IC646), the site is the Smithsonian & I chose THIS as my inspiration. I have always wanted to visit the Smithsonian museums..hopefully one day I’ll get there.
The ruby slippers image was placed into my Misti, stamped (leaving off the original greeting), colored w/ Copics & a Prismacolor pencil overlay, then stamped again. Since it’s a really large image, I had to use a large pierced die to cut it. The shoes were masked & I stamped the clockworks & little gears down the left w/ the gray ink then I stamped the magic shoes greeting. I didn’t really want to cover up all the coloring w/ glitter, so I added a narrow red glitter layer behind the panel.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. So beautiful. I love this card a lot. I was just in my favourites at SCVS and came across a card using this same stamp. I love it just as much this time because I think red is the perfect colour. I do love steampunk and these shoes rock my world. What a lot of work to mask and add gears. Terrific idea Julie.
