Welcome to the FireCracker Designs Gets Hot Blog Hop! Since July is the middle of summer, we decided to go with the heat. So we’re using heat embossing, ironing, whatever uses Heat!
This is a “circular blog hop†where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you have reached the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog where you started! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)
The winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess that we don’t even know who it will be until the hop is over…so that’s why you need to leave a comment on EVERY blog to qualify! This hop will continue through Wednesday July 29.
**To find out if you’ve won… you will be contacted by Pamela via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on Pamela’s blog after the blog hop ends on Wed, ……at 8:00 PM (EST).**

For my White Garden, I decided to use heat embossing. With white embossing powder and cool colors on the background I’m hoping to help keep you cool in the heat of summer.
The background was brayered using Kpad Riviera. I used green and purple blo pens to add the splatter. To make sure it was really dry, I used the heat gun on it, then went over it w/ the static pad. The flower images (Silhouette Flowers, Sitting Pretty) were stamped w/ white pigment ink and embossed w/ white powder.
After embossing, I used a Spellbinder’s Labels Three die and cut out a section of my piece. I embossed the greeting, added a die cut white mat and attached it w/ foam tape over the area where it was cut out.
I added ribbon threaded thru a die cut buckle (Sizzix) and a little Stickles to the flower centers. Two punched butterflies were attached on top.
Thanks so much for stopping by! To continue the circle hop, please hop on over to Lisa’s blog and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started! Thanks so much for playing along with us and we hope you have a great time!

Wow, Julie! I LOVE how you arranged all those flowers and swirl leaves!! It looks so natural – like it was one stamped image instead of bunches of small ones! You have a great eye for arrangement!! Love the white embossing and blue/green background! Lovely!!
July 26th, 2009 - 2:56 pm
I love these colors together and the embossing is fabulous. I may have to case the ‘buckle’ idea – very cute ;o)
July 26th, 2009 - 9:37 pm
What a great idea — cutting out the image then matting with a larger mat in the same style!!! I’m DEFINITELY gonna have to “borrow” that one. Thanks for a lovely card and great idea!!

I had never thought of embossing with the white before, so this is great.
