DDIC3- Framed Flower

May 7th, 2009

Hello!

It’s time again for our Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge! Today, Lori has chosen this great room from the Pottery Barn for our inspiration.

Dahlia Pillow

Dahlia Pillow

At first, the colors really made me think of lemons and limes, but I don’t have any really good images of these so this is what I came up with.

The frames are all one stamp (ANM). I inked the outermost one w/ lemon peel, then inked the pattern stamp (Stampa Rosa) w/ pine ink and pressed the pattern image onto the solid frame. The inner two frames were inked w/ leaf green. After stamping the frame onto white c/s, I cut out the center w/ a nestie rectangle.

I used the center cut out to stamp my flower (Magenta). The flower was colored using markers direct to the rubber. I added a little shading w/ Prismacolor pencils and sponged around the edges. Stickles was added on top.

The background was stamped w/ the stripe pattern (DRS) and soft yellow ink. Then I overstamped it w/ the small flower border (Magenta) again coloring it w/ markers direct to rubber.

The frame was attached on top w/ foam tape and the flower rectangle was inset in the center. Narrow lt green satin ribbon was attached to sheer sage ribbon and I tied it in a bow and attached on top. The sentiment (EC) was cut w/ a nestie tag (resized). The edges were sponged and then it was attached. Everything is on a dk olive panel then attached to a white card.
