When I saw Beate’s Tutorial this week on Splitcoast, I knew I wanted to try it. It’s called Puzzle Piece Resist and it’s a variation of embossed resist. I think it turned out ok, except that the only heart die I have is this huge one by Memory Box and the way it’s made, it doesn’t have a “lip” like the Spellbinders dies so I was unable to have a white edge.
After I stamped multiple rows of the crochet lace border with Versamark and clear embossed them, I die cut the big heart out of this background. I also die cut the buttons out of the heart portion. I sponged on black ink on the big background, angel pink on the heart and rosebud on the buttons then put them back…hence the puzzle piece part of the technique. I also clear embossed another piece using the crocheted background, die cut it with the ODBD exclusive Antique Label dies (by Spellbinders) and w/ the die in place, I sponged on the rosebud ink. I die cut an extra button out of this, too. I also stamped the sentiment (from Little Girls) and the frame (from Antique Labels) and clear embossed the black ink before die cutting and sponging. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.
Thanks so much for looking!
