This was made for today’s SCS ways to use it challenge: colored pencils. I also combined it with Wednesday’s sketch. I just love these little chicks and the big bird seemed to fit right in. They are stamped with Ancient Page coal ink and colored in with Prismacolor pencils. I blended the colors with Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS) and a blending stump. The dark purple mat was punched at the bottom with a Martha Stewart border punch. I used the same punch on a strip of yellow and attached it offset from the purple.
Have y’all ever seen the beginning of a rainbow? I did on Tuesday. We had a bunch of rain all day, with little breaks before another wave would hit. I was in my car, stuck in traffic when a little break in the rain happened. Right in front of me, I noticed a rainbow. Really funny that just as I saw it, the song “Desperado” was playing, the line about “it may be raining, but there’s a rainbow above you”. I looked to my left, and right there was the beginning of the rainbow. I don’t think DH believed me, but it was there, touching the ground. Really awesome.
Happy Birthday, Pamela. Hope you like this.

Julie -this is the cutest card… I read the title and thought “What a fun Sesame Street episode that would make!” Love these colors and how you offset the punched part!!
