I hope y’all are having a fun Labor Day weekend! I combined 4 of the challenges at Splitcoast to arrive at this card.  First, for today’s FS187, since I was already in a Christmas card mode, I chose Emily’s Christmas in July?. I kept the red bird, blue bg and horizontal layout, but used different images, colors and added a sentiment. This is also for Wed sketch, SC296, Thurs WT286 (use just one piece of c/s) and Fri F4A28 (birds).

All images, glitter, adhesives and embossing powders are Sparkle N Sprinkle. I black embossed all the images, die cut with Spellbinders, masked and sponged lt blue ink on the backgrounds. Markers and a water brush were used to color the images. For the birdhouses square, I stamped the birdhouse border multiple times while the die was still in place. I used a QK oval die on the sentiment. For all of the backing layers, I sponged on blue ink to change the color (from white).

The lower panel was embossed w/ a QK ef and sponged. I used a glue pen to add just a bit of glitter to berries and roof tops.

Happy 1st Thursday of September! Time for another Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge!

I love our inspiration picture this week. I had every intention of incorporating some of the wood tones and textures into my card, but I’m sure y’all know about how things sometimes take on a life of their own.

I did manage to use the blue and gray tones and my background is similar to the blocky drawers of the chest. All images are Our Daily Bread designs and are brand new releases.  For the background, I made a Faux Tile using the large Brocade Background image and blue chalk ink.  (Tutorial for this technique will be coming soon!) I used the same ink to stamp the bucket and pump image and a darker, denim ink to overstamp the greeting and the brocade frame. Everything is layered with a dark charcoal card stock and attached to a 5.5 x 4.25 white card. I added some punched strips and faux silver pearls.

I love this new Brocade Background and the Never Thirst set is wonderful and I combined them for my card. A rainbow ink pad was used to brayer a piece of white card stock and the brocade was stamped over it with black ink. The well was stamped and colored with markers. After die cutting it (using the out of the box Nesite technique), I left the die in place and sponged some ink inside. Silver highlights were added with a metallic pen. I cut out an extra bucket to attach on the base image for a little dimension. After stamping the Proverb, I rounded the left corners and wrapped the right edge over the top two layers. I made a 1/2 inch faux brad out of some leftover background  and attached it to a 5/8 inch mustard circle.

This is for today’s Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.  What a wonderful place! I picked several that really attracted my attention, and this is the second one. I love the black/white/yellow combo. For mine I added a little blue/white cloud bg for my backing layer.

All images are Our Daily Bread designs and are new August releases. Did I tell y’all about the exclusive matching die for these sunflowers? It works like a dream and it only took a couple of minutes to die cut three sets of this sunflower bunch. After die cutting, I separated one sunflower from the bunch and colored it using markers and a water brush. I white embossed the sentiment directly on my main, black panel.  I arranged and attached the remaining, uncolored sunflowers on the black bg and attached a punched fence on top.  A die cut corner element was added and then my bright yellow sunflower.

For the blue bg, I used a self made cloud stencil and sponged on blue inks and a little yellow ink for a sunny effect. Everything is attached to a white, 5.5 x 4.25 (A2) card.

For this card, I inked the spider lily with lapis and azalea inks, stamped it twice,  cut one out and die cut the other with a mega oval die.  After sponging a little ink around the edges, I attached the cut out lily on top of the base image. I traced this same die on navy paper and cut it out by hand in order to get the narrow mat. The white mat is the next largest oval die. 

For the background, I placed a large flourish mask on my white card stock, stamped the ledger and several word images, then sponged on azalea ink. I stamped a few of the small butterflies and used one as mask. I placed this one in a couple of areas on the background, then sponged more ink over it. I added a corner punch and a white punched fence. The sentiment was punched with a multi size tag punch. Card measures 4.25 x 5.5 (A2).

And this final card uses images from Sketch of Roses II.

My final card I started by stamping the large background with a dk plum ink onto watercolor paper.  I used various pink dye inks direct to paper (DTP) then misted it with water and distressed the edges. The rose image and greeting were stamped with Stazon onto a piece of acetate. On the back side, I used a white China marker to make the images stand out. I added a hint of color to the rose and leaves with markers (on top of the white China marker). It’s attached to a heavily distressed piece of purple card stock. I created the embossed background by inking the the grid embossing folder, misting a piece of white card stock, then placing it in the folder and embossing.  A bow was added and I glued a few beads onto a stick pin and attached it to the bow.  Card measures 5.5 x 4.25 (A2).

Mini Ledger from Innovative Stamp Creations

This line is ideal for Artist Trading Cards, when you need a quick Mini-Card! Even accents the pages on a small Mini Book too! The tab image is super easy to use as you’ll see in the sample below you can use almost any of the phrases on the inside of the tab to accent your card, etc!

I kept the same general layout and colors for my set of 3×3 mini cards. The main images were stamped with Stazon onto acetate and stickles was added to the back side. The acetate was then attached to the backgrounds which were mad by stamping various elements of the Mini Ledger set and sponging ink around the edges. The notebook edge was done with a spiral punch. The tabs were inked then pressed against the mini ledger before stamping onto white card stock. This gives just a hint of the lines. The sentiment was then stamped in black inside the tab.

The little chipboard hearts and flower were first pressed against the Kpad (for color) then stickles was added on top.  Finished mini cards measure 3 x 3.

Lately, have you noticed all the lovely Ledger design paper at your local stamp store? Well, now you can create a ton of lovely backgrounds on your cards and even in a mini book with this lovely Ledger image!

The Creative Architects were challenged to incorporate some of the images from both of these lines on our card. Moreover, Nature Silhouette III bodes well with Nature Silhouette I/II.

A little tip from Betsy: Use caution, but you can cut apart each of the images on the Hollyhock Shadow stamp and place them on your acrylic mount and arrange to your liking, then stamp away!

For my card, I white embossed the Hollyhock Shadow onto a large shipping tag then sponged on three colors of distress inks.  I tore the side and bottom of the tag and used scissors and ink to further distress them. A portion of a punched fence was also sponged and added to the bottom. The white layer was embossed with a grid pattern embossing folder (Tim Holtz/Sizzix line). I distressed the edges all around.  I used a ticket corner punch and some sheer tissue ticket tape to create the small ticket in the upper right and tucked it into a tiny white envelope. You can see more of this tape across the center of the card.

For the background, I white embossed the ledger then sponged on the distress inks as before. The little sentiment was also white embossed onto inked c/s and cut out.  The little butterfly was cut out and popped up with a little foam tape. Finished card measures 4.25 x 5.50 (A2).

Are y’all ready for fall? I sure am! What a scorcher of a summer and as far as I’m concerned, good riddance!!

With that in mind, I created this Fall Wreath card. All images are Our Daily Bread designs. To me, fall colors and images are so vibrant and beautiful. These sunflowers just said ‘make a wreath’ to me, so I did. I used both the Happy Fall and the Harvest Blessings sets. What really made this card so much easier, are the exclusive, matching dies for both of these sunflower images! I stamped a bunch of the single sunflower and a couple of the sunflower bunch, then die cut them quick as you please!

The sunflowers were colored with markers and a waterbrush and I arranged them on a “donut” I cut with two Spellbinders circles. This helps me get and keep a good circle shape for my wreath. I used a corner rounder on the ivory layer behind the wreath before I stamped the Ironworks Borders to add a little detail in the corners. The butter colored layer is actually strips I used a corner and border punch and put them together to form a frame.  Since the size I needed was a little odd, I found it easier to put it together than to punch a whole layer.

I added some cut out wheat from the Our Daily Bread set to the top of the wreath. The sentiment was die cut using Spellbinder’s Fancy Tags and a tiny bit of sponging was added. A few more layers were added then it was all attached to a 5 1/2″ square white card. The designer paper is Basic Grey, Green at Heart.
