DDIC17 cocoa1 Welcome to the Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge #17! Today our inspiration picture is from Garnet Hill.  What a great color combo this has!  Since I really don’t have any cocoa images, I focused on the colors and snow.

Christmas Carols 4012
I’m also using the Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The Carolers (WW) were stamped once on white, again onto two similar pieces of dp and pieced onto the base image. After masking the image, the snowflake bg (B/S) was stamped w/ the neptune ink. It was cut out using a Spellbinders Nestie oval. The red dp layer was cut w/ a labels 3 die.

The greeting and tall tree (both SG) were stamped w/ cardinal ink and the dot bg (IB) was overstamped w/ the neptune ink. It’s attached to a dp layer w/ a punched lower edge. The two side panels are snowflake dp that I added a red dot in the snowflake centers. The little snowbird (CMC) was colored, cut out and attached on top.

stamps: Wordsworth, Studio G, Canadian Maple Collection, Brother/Sister, Anita’s (Inque Boutique)
paper: white, dp (DCWV Christmas Stack from a few yrs ago)
ink: Ancient Page coal, cardinal, Neptune
accessories: stickles, markers, Spellbinders oval and labels 3 Nesties, Martha Stewart border punch

This started w/ a pack of $1 cards from Mike’s. I cut out the center pic and added a couple of pieces of c/s under it to lift it up a bit. Then I stamped the scattered dots (Anita’s) and snowflakes (Stampcraft) w/ the soft wheat onto a vanilla piece. Then I dotted it w/ bleach and a white gel pen. I used the corner punch/embosser and sponged the edges w/ palm leaf. The greeting (CMC) was stamped w/ cardinal.

I stamped the cardinal bird house and water colored w/ markers. Liquid Applique was added to the roof then stickles on top of that.

The red layer was punched at the bottom and two ribbons were layered and added to the right side.

Stamps: Westwater, Candaian Maple Collection, Stampcraft, Anita’s (Inque)
Paper: vanilla, real red, old olive clone (DCWV mat stack)
Ink: AP coal, cardinal, palm leaf, soft wheat
Accessories: bleach, white gel pen, Liquid Applique, stickles, ribbon, $1 cards from Michael’s, markers, foam tape, MS border punch, Fiskar’s corner punch embosser

For this card, I’m combining Tues. color challenge (choc. chip, pink pirouette and kiwi kiss) and today’s Ways to Use It (one word stamp). I found this dp in a Christmas stack from at least a couple of years ago. The colors seemed perfect so that’s where this card started.

This paper is definitely on the cute side and I don’t have many cute stamps, since I don’t usually do a lot of “cute”. Somehow I misplaced the stamp I wanted to use so I used this snow globe set (Scrap Pack) instead. It says 2004, so I’ve had it awhile and this is the first time I’ve used it.

I stamped and embossed the base of the snow globe w/ the pink pastel ep on choc chip c/s. I made a reverse mask and stamped and embossed the snowflakes (Stampcraft). I traced a 4″ circle onto white c/s and also onto a piece of acetate w/ the black sharpie and cut both out. I stamped the tree and colored it w/ markers, then stamped the snow w/ the silver ink and embossed it w/ the winter wonderland ep. I cut out two of the elves from the dp and attached them to 3 layers of c/s then cut them out again. This gives them a little dimension but not as much as foam tape would. I put the acetate over the globe and attached it w/ the star brad at the top and two little brads near the base.

I stamped and embossed the Joy (CMC) w/ the pink pastel ep onto the choc chip c/s and cut out. Then layered it a couple of times w/ the ribbon running thru it. I drew the frame around the 6 x 6 dp w/ a brown marker. I attached the snow globe onto a couple of layers of c/s then to the card. Three embossed and cut out snowflakes are attached below the greeting w/ foam tape. Dots were done w/ a pink souffle pen and a brown marker.
