A fun card, featuring a polaroid framed scarecrow in a cornfield along w/ a mini polaroid of pumpkins & a sunflower. Perfect for fall & Thanksgiving. Entirely die cut & easy to customize w/ any colors you like.

For the Inspiration Challenge IC933), we are visiting Lake Effect Gallery & their Pinterest Board. THIS was my inspiration picture. The fall images & pictures all laid out made me think of of polaroid pictures so that’s the direction I went. Except for the greeting, my card is entirely die cut. I had a bunch of scraps of fall colors sitting out from a previous card, so I used them to die cut all the pieces of my scarecrow, cornfield, sunflowers & pumpkins. Sometimes it actually works out when you don’t put everything away. I die cut the 2 sizes of polaroid frames (sm in white & lg in rust) & backed them w/ card board to elevate & give them some sturdiness.

I did add a bit of shading here & there w/ a few Copic markers. After stamping the greeting, it was a just a matter of putting the die cuts together & arranging them inside the frames.

  • Fall Gnome House

A fun, fall card featuring a cute little gnome house, some adorable mix & match mushrooms, pumpkins & falling leaves. It’s backed w/ some lovely falling leaves paper,

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS871), so a big congrats to Loretta! She has a sweet little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the house theme & use of designer paper, but I changed it to a fall card, used a gnome house & fall colors.

For my little autumn card, I die cut all the pieces of the gnome tree house in various fall  colors & pieced them all together. I popped the tree house up a bit then added all the die cut little mushrooms in mix & match colors. Some of the mushrooms are popped up a bit for dimension. Then I added some falling leaves here & there. I used a lovely fall leaf paper for the background & after die cutting w/ a stitched rectangle, I also used a circle pierced die on it. I love these piercing dies..I think they’re a great way to add a little interest to your bg papers. A couple of narrow rust colored layers finished it.

  • Thanksgiving Mantle

Thanksgiving card with a mantle of colored pumpkins and cattails in pitchers. Fun to make & easy to change up the colors. I used a neutral palette but this would be great in bright colors, too.

The Inspiration Challenge (IC932) has us visiting Annie Selke & their Pinterest Board where I was inspired by THIS picture (The link has disappeared to my pic, but I did at least have the picture saved). I used several different dies & die sets to create my mantle scene. I die cut the large white panel first, along w/ the long ledge from the Window die & made it just a bit longer by cutting a little more than halfway, then lining up the die but moving it further out, turning the paper around & cutting the other side. (here’s an old tutorial I did that will give the idea of this process.) I used the door frame for the sides & made a longer top piece for it. On the mantle inset, I used the piece I cut out for the frame & used the piercing cover on it. I added a couple of layers of stiff card board to the frame to give it strength & elevation.

The little pumpkins were die cut out of several different colors, along w/ the cattails & pitcher/vases. I used a mini tag die & a piece of mirror silver to make the little mirror in the center. The greeting was stamped below..the original has Gnome instead of Home so I masked that out & replaced it w/ dk brown die cut letters from the Alpha die.
