Wonderful site for today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC389)! Such interesting stuff! I was drawn to this Apron for its colors and pattern. I love the contrast of the blue and orange and the edges of the apron pattern reminded me of a postage stamp so I used my Spellbinders postage edge dies to cut out two of the layers.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped the image twice..once on a confetti cream and once on an orange paper. I die cut the two, layered w/ a navy square in-between and put them on top of the original cream image, using the Triple Stamping tech. I added a little color to the horizon w/ Copic markers. The sentiment was die cut using only the end section of the die. The fishing net was stamped using the rust ink on the card front and also on the large orange bg. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

The Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC426) had some pretty colors I thought would look nice in my stained glass window. I needed a wedding card and I thought this fabulous image would be perfect.

Images are from Our Daily Bread designs. The window was black embossed, colored w/ Copics and die cut using the matching ODBD/Spellbinders die. After I die cut it, I realized it would have been much easier to emboss it twice and color only the one I wasn’t going to die cut. I would have saved me from having to put all those window pieces back in place. Oh well. I did die cut another marbled frame and attach it under the embossed one to raise it up a bit from the stained glass pieces. The white die cut window frame was attached around the window and I embossed the background w/ a Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment was also die cut and attached on top of my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

Ha
ppy Tuesday!

For today’s Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC425), the colors are Pink, another Pink & Gray…and also a dash of green w/ flowers for dessert. I have the 2 pinks, the dash of green & the flowers, but only a hint of gray in the colors of the window. I don’t have a gray embossing powder, so I used a black (for the stained glass window) and hope that’s acceptable.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. After embossing the stained glass window on designer paper, I added a few white accents w/ a white gel pen then added the coordinating die cut frame. The sentiment was stamped onto a ribbon banner and sponged inside w/ pink ink. I had a piece of a Cheery Lynn flourish already cut so I used it and some little punched flowers I had left over from another project. It’s all attached to another piece of designer paper and the finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

For today’s Technique Challenge on Splitcoast (TLC428), it’s Happy Birthday, Joan! We are to CASE a card of Joan’s and/or use one of the Techniques she hosted. I chose both…first I cased Joan’s The Sea card AND I used one of her challenges (TLC418) Gotta Love Circles! I used a similar ship on the sea image and the blue/white/yellow color combo and used 3 circle shapes on my card.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. I inked up the image w/ Ranger denim ink, then wiped off most of it on the right side, leaving just a hint of blue. The sentiment was stamped on the right, on top of the palest ink, then the image was die cut and edged w/ a yellow Permapaque marker. The 2 compass roses were stamped, colored w/ a yellow Copic and cut out, along w/ the anchor. The navy background was embossed and the image and cut out element added on top along w/ a ship’s wheel embellishment. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

A big Happy Birthday to Joan and thanks for all the fun challenges!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fishing Net Background

Julie Warner - http://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

I stamped the fishing boat scene and colored it w/ Copics, purposely leaving the sky a little streaky. Ever notice how the colors of a brilliant sunset can look streaky like that? I added some highlights w/ a white gel pen and die cut w/ a Spellbinders circle die. The shape reminded me of a porthole, so I added eyelets and little thread knots to continue that look. The net background was stamped tone on tone on the cobalt panel and 2 lg white eyelets and some tied white cord were added. The sentiment was cut out and I used a sm corner rounder on the ends. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now I’ll send you on your way to the blog of the always fabulous Chris!
